Here are my Plitvice Lakes photos I took during my trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. While I had heard good things about this park, I had no idea that the water would be this blue and clear, and that this park would be so beautiful.
This is one of the most popular spots in the park, a waterfall called Veliki Slap, near the northern end of the park. It was at least 100 feet high, and notice the rainbow near where the water hits the ground. Apparently if you come earlier in the year, the falls are even more prettier, as there is more water after the snow melts.
This was my favorite spot in the park. This picture doesn’t do it justice, but this waterfall was enormous as well. I loved how the multiple streams of water falling combined to create such a picturesque scene.
This was my girlfriend’s favorite spot. As you can see, the water is so clear and turquoise. With the waterfalls in the background, it looks like the setting for a fairytale.
This spot is right at the start of the hiking trail going towards the western end of the park. It’s higher up then the rest, so you can look down into the lake and see all the way to the bottom.
This spot is right behind Veliki Slap, and it took some trekking to get here. It’s high up, so you have to climb a lot of stairs, walk down a road, and then back onto a trail to get here. It was definitely well worth it to see this view.
Some more lakes and waterfalls along the trails. It’s incredible how many there are, and how beautiful and unique each one are.
This is a stream that flows into a waterfall near the end of the western hiking trail.
These are some of the fishes that live in the lakes. Notice how clear the water is and how visible the fish are.
